Sandhill Cranes

I saw a couple of these a few days ago at a forest preserve here in Lake County. These are literally dinosaurs that grew feathers. After seeing them from about twenty yards away it’s hard to believe that anyone would want to hunt these creatures. They are an incredible sight, and a reminder of what was once here before the rise of the humans.
